Kitchen Assistant’s work in the kitchens areas supporting kitchen managers and prep chefs to provide world class catering for the customers being served within the hospitality areas. This involves preparing, cooking and serving food to clients across the stadium.
 
As far as possible each Kitchen Assistant is allocated to work in the same kitchen for each game. However business needs may require you to relocate to another area for any event or match day.

Main Duties 

  • To prepare food in the correct manner as shown by kitchen management in compliance with company food requirements.
  • To ensure that all aspects of the food production processes are executed to the highest standards.
  • To ensure that the highest quality standards are maintained throughout the production process.
  • To ensure effective communication within the working team.
  • To assist in stock control, portion control and quality control.
  • To assist in carrying out a critical analysis of food safety operations and maintaining, formulating and updating our company HACCP systems in so far as they relate to the kitchen operation. This will include the completion of all paperwork applicable to the operation on a daily basis along with using innovative ideas and assisting the Kitchen Supervisor in order to maintain a fully compliant standard.
  • To assist the Environmental Health Manager in pursuance of Health and Safety conformance including day to day assistance wherever necessary with risk assessments, accident reporting etc.  
  • To ensure that all company cleaning schedules are adhered to in accordance with legal requirements.
  • To maintain a high level of personal hygiene and to ensure that correct clean uniform and personal protective equipment are worn at all times.
  • To report any maintenance issues to the Kitchen Manager.

Requirements

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • An NVQ Level 1 in food preparation or similar qualification.
  • A Basic Food Hygiene and Basic Health and Safety Certificate.
  • Work experience in a similar kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work in a multi task, highly pressurized environment.
  • Organized and methodical.
  • A commitment to driving forwards continuous improvement in their working environment.
  • Sound personal qualities such as communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, self-motivation, enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure. They should exhibit pride in performance and possess high standards in the provision of service to Manchester United’s customers and internal users
