Our most popular internships include:

  • South Africa Game Ranger - Learn the practical skills of what it takes to be a game ranger deep within the South African bush in the awe inspiring Kruger National Park.
  • Kenya Healthcare Internship - Combine learning with hands-on activities in this placement that will give you essential and exciting experience for your career. Work with the local community in a country of awesome beauty.
  • India Medical Internship - Experience a varied and in-depth internship from which you will gain a greater appreciation and understanding of the challenges facing the medical professionals in a country such as India.
  • Ecuador Veterinary Internship - The chance to learn about animals and veterinary medicine in general and specifically about the practice in a rural Ecuadorian animal rescue centre, ideal for aspiring veterinarians!

Frontier was established in 1989 as a non-profit conservation and development non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to safeguarding biodiversity and ecosystem integrity and building sustainable livelihoods for marginalised communities in the world's poorest countries.

Take part in our wide and diverse range of projects in over twenty countries worldwide. All of our projects are long-term partnerships between Frontier, local NGOs and community organisations, government agencies and research and conservation institutes and all aim to build coalitions between stakeholders at the local, national, and international level.

Training and education are crucial core values of Frontier. Training is given to volunteers, interns, Frontier staff, and to our partners and beneficiaries in-country. Our highly qualified UK and field staff teams will ensure that you receive quality training on your project. Not only can you work abroad with us, but we offer you the opportunity to formalise your training with a number of internationally recognised, endorsed and accredited qualifications. Get more out of your gap year, year out or career break with a range of qualifications to suit your career path.
