Description
Looking for an INTENSIVE OUTDOOR INSTRUCTOR TRAINING PROGRAM? Then Look No Further! This course is perfect if you want to work in the outdoor industry and become a qualified Professional Outdoor Instructor!
You will also gain hands on experience assisting with group activity sessions during the course and be taught the associated soft skills to facilitate your transition in to a Professionally Qualified Instructor. We employ full time Instructors who provide quality training in all the disciplines included.
On successful completion of the course, you should expect to achieve the following qualifications (subject to personal development & experience):
* BMC Single Pitch Award Training in Climbing
* MLTE Summer Mountain Leader Training OR
* MLTE Walking Group Leader Training
* NARS/RLSS Beach Life Guard Award (subject to good swimming and surfing skills)
* New UKCC BCU 1 – 2 Star in Kayaking & Canoeing
* BCU Foundation Safety Rescue Techniques Certificate
* BCU 3 Star Sea Kayaking
* New UKCC BCU Level 1 Assistant Coach
* First Aid Qualification
Additional training is also given in Orienteering, Cycle Trail Group Management, Problem Solving and Team Dynamics, etc. Theory sessions are included on the soft skills along with further background information on the associated legislation issues involved.
FUTURE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
We aim to employ a number of sucessful students following completion of the course and also offer support and guidance for Candidates when seeking employment at other activity centres.
There is also an opportunity to extend the course by approx 1 week in order to attain either the DVLA PCV Minibus driving qualification (min age 21yrs) or BSA Level 1 Surf Coach Award at additional fees. These are highly sought after qualifications which often command additional salary rewards.
Requirements
Applicants must be 18 or over by 31st August 2011. The cost of the course is £4,800, non residential and £6,400 residential including quality on site full board accommodation at The Manor House.
There is also the option of an all inclusive course fee of £7,600 which includes course fees, residential option and most of the specialist equipment you'll need for the course (Waterproof Jacket & Trousers, Dry Suit, Buoyancy Aid, Spray Deck, Tow Line, Throw Line, Kayak Helmet, Climbing Harness, Climbing Helmet, Screw Gate Karabiners, Prusik Cords, Sling and Belay Device)
