Strong academics and vibrant personality are all necessary for this role. Impressive GCSE and A-Level grades are essential, and you must have a minimum of a 2:2 degree within History/Geography (or a closely related degree).
A confident classroom presence, a willingness to step outside your comfort zone and the ability to build a positive rapport with the 11-16 age range are all needed to carry out this role effectively.
Applications will be very welcomed from History/Geography Graduates who like challenging themselves, who are eager to learn and who are excited by the prospect of qualifying as a History/Geography Teacher in the future!

About the History/Geography Instructor role

With the support of qualified History/Geography Teachers and School Leaders, you will work towards effectively leading whole classes within Year 7-11. This does not mean from day one, you will be left to your own devices within a classroom setting but following a comprehensive induction process where you will learn the school’s processes, policies and content of the History/Geography curriculum, this would be the intention. The plan is for a confident History/Geography Graduate to take on a reduced teaching timetable and for the remainder of the time, to work within a support capacity where you can observe the other Qualified History/Geography Teachers and work as a Teaching Assistant/Intervention Tutor.

The School

Found in Felixstowe, this school prides itself on providing the very best for each and every child. They aim to create a unique balance of fun, excitement and a love of learning with high expectations and aspirations. This will culminate in a rich and vibrant learning environment where students work hard and dream big!
A successful working relationship has seen numerous Edustaff graduates introduced to the school over the past few academic years and progress onto Teacher Training – could you be the next?!
