Job Title: Human Resources Manager (J60776)
Location: Bamber Bridge, Preston
Employment Type: Permanent staff position, Part Time (3 days / week)


Assystem is an International Engineering Consultancy with significant growth plans within our Energy & Infrastructure business here in the UK

Consequently, Assystem Energy & Infrastructure Ltd (AEIL) is looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to be our Human Resources Senior Manager


To work closely with the UK Senior Management team to provide HR leadership, advice and manage the provision of a full HR support service. This will include Leadership Development and Employee Engagement, as well as managing a small HR team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Employee relations:

* Development of HR policies and procedures in line with overall UK and Group policy

* Advising all levels of management on employment law, employee relations, performance management and good personnel practice

* Providing first line advice, guidance and support on all Employee Relations issues including attendance and advising at meetings, hearings and appeals, and the preparation of draft letters and reports in relation to grievance (collective/individual), discipline, employee performance and capability, redundancy, re-organisation and restructuring of services, TUPE, absence management and conditions of service

* Developing and maintaining pay and benefit strategies in line with Group

* Facilitating the UK Business Unit in ensuring that performance appraisals are carried out to company guidelines, standards, and timelines

Training and Development:

* Assisting UK Business Units in identifying and addressing staff development needs, ongoing training, and development strategies

* Designing, organising and delivering, training programmes in conjunction with Business Unit Directors and Specialist Trainers

* Assisting Business Units in ensuring that Training and development plans are documented developed and assisting in the preparation and managing of the training budget.

* Work with Chief Engineers/Functional Heads to support the progress of technical training generated from the annual appraisal process

* Manage the AEIL Graduate Professional Development Scheme (GPDS) ensuring full accreditation with IMechE, and IET

* Take a lead role in the coordination of AEIL apprentice schemes. Provide uniformity across all businesses and ensure that training and development is in line with broad business requirements

* Assist in the liaison with local universities and colleges to help ensure a steady flow of good quality graduate/technical apprentice level recruits

Beneficial but not essential:

* Previous experience working with Directors
* International experience and exposure
* Speaking French


* CIPD to Level 5 in Human Resources Management with Substantial knowledge and experience in all aspects of HR

* CIPD qualified, as an experienced Senior HR Advisor or Manager, you will have worked within a Manufacturing/ Engineering Company previously and have led from a HR perspective during a growth period.

Reports to: Managing Director

* 1 x HR Administrator
* Establish & manage external provision as required.

Bamber Bridge, Preston office. Travelling to other Assystem offices will be required

Security clearance:

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance
