Part Time Freelance Volunteer Coordinator
10 days work for £1500. Hybrid role.
MUST BE LONDON OR SOUTH EAST BASED.
Dyslexia FeelGood Funday (DFGF) is a fresh and innovative social enterprise established in August 2023 and is funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England. Additionally, it is a Community Interest Company (CIC) that aims to uplift and inspire through interactive, arts-based events primarily designed for dyslexics and neurodivergents, but all are welcome.
Funded by the National Lottery through Arts Council England, DFGF hopes to ignite interest in a wide range of activities, from arts and crafts, music, dance, drama etc. Our goal is to influence lives beyond our one-day Funday event taking place next March, by building confidence, making connections, improving mental health, fostering well-being and most importantly to have fun!
Our purpose is to help participants build confidence, develop skills, thrive, improve wellness, make connections, and most importantly, have fun! We look forward to welcoming you to our events and sharing in the joy of learning, growing, and having fun together.
Volunteer Coordinator Benefits
Working for DFGF as a P/T Freelance Volunteer Coordinator you’ll be inducted, have 1-2-1’s with the Project Lead and have the opportunity to work with a small passionate team for a worthwhile cause.
Volunteer Coordinator Responsibilities
1. Recruitment of Event Volunteers: Oversee the selection, interviewing, and sifting process to ensure the recruitment of suitable volunteers for various events.
2. Induction & Training: Conduct induction programs for new volunteers and provide necessary training to equip them with the skills required for their roles.
3. Writing Task Descriptions: Create clear and concise task descriptions for each volunteer role to ensure volunteers understand their responsibilities.
4. Rotas: Develop and manage volunteer schedules to ensure adequate coverage for all events.
5. Promotion Across Social Media: Utilize various social media platforms to promote events and attract potential volunteers.
6. Podcast Promotional Appearances: Represent the organisation on podcasts to promote upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.
Volunteer Coordinator Background
* Location: Able to work from home, attend in-person NW London meetings and the DFGF events
* Qualities: Dynamic, driven, confident individual; a fast learner able to ‘get stuck into the job’ and tackle tasks from day one!
* Experience: Previous experience in volunteer coordination or a similar role is preferred.
* IT Skills: Must be highly skilled in the use of Microsoft Office i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Social Media Skills: Familiarity with various social media platforms and experience in social media promotion.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
