About the College
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the major providers of education and training in Yorkshire and Humberside. They are one of the largest providers of A Level and vocational programmes for 16 to 19 year olds in the region. They also deliver a range of Traineeships and Apprenticeships and work with over 1,000 employers, helping them to recruit apprentices and provide bespoke training for their employees. They also offer a range of Higher Education courses for full and part-time study as well as many Adult Learning opportunities.

Our client is proud of their outstanding success rates for students studying at all levels, which have been consistently above national averages for the last 21 years, as well as the outstanding student progression into higher-level study and employment.

They are proud to have been judged as 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. They are also 'outstanding' in terms of their financial health. They have first-class resources designed with post-16 students in mind and recently opened a brand new Construction Centre. These, combined with the highest standards for individual student achievement, provides an outstanding environment for teaching and learning.

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified individual with drive and enthusiasm. You will relish the challenge of working with Carpentry & Joinery students on Study Programs, Apprenticeship frameworks and Technical Certificates in both disciplines of Site and Bench joinery.

You should be passionate about developing students' employability skills, including English and Maths and be proactive in developing employer engagement opportunities. The ability to inspire students and contribute to pioneering curriculum development are also essential.

You will have up to date relevant industry experience, an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Carpentry and Joinery. Experience of working in a teaching/training capacity is desirable. The post would suit an appropriately qualified person looking for a first step from industry to a career in teaching, or an experienced tutor/assessor looking for a career development.

Formal qualifications are essential, but so is enthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to work as part of a team.

If you do not possess a full teaching qualification - Cert ED, PGCE or equivalent - you can study with them part time AND they will subsidise you 50% of the cost of the course, AND offer you an interest free loan on the balance.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check.

PLEASE NOTE: Most correspondence regarding vacancies will be sent via email, so please check your emails regularly for updates on your application. We would also advise to check your junk/spam folder as some emails may end up here depending on your mail provider settings.
