Good news for students - the national minimum wage is scheduled to increase in April 2018! The new rates that will apply from 1st April were announced by the government in the Autumn 2017 budget.
Under 18's: Rates will rise from £4.04 to £4.20 per hour18-20's: Rates will rise from £5.60 to £5.9021-24's: Rates will rise from £7.05 to £7.38Over 25's: Rates will rise from £7.50 to £7.83Full details on current rates are available at https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage-ratesThe Low Pay Commission say this will be the largest increase in 10 years for 18-24 year olds, with a rise of 4.7 per cent for 18-20s and 5.4 per cent for 21-24s.
