Student Jobs On The Rise

11 Aug 2015

A recent survey suggests that over 70% of UK students are now seeking paid part time jobs to supplement their student income.

Student jobs survey results

Survey results recently released by Endsleigh found that 57 per cent of university students said they were working to help pay their accommodation, food and household bills, while 56 per cent were looking to earn extra cash for socialising.

Despite the increase in students working, 53 per cent still depend on help from their parents and 46 per cent still use their overdraft to help make ends meet.

Money concerns were not the sole reason for students taking up work - 87 per cent said they had done so to enhance their CV and improve their life skills.

It's a considerable rise compared to last year's 59 per cent of students in employment during their studies..
