Cyber safe job hunting tips

Recent research conducted by the job board CV-Library highlights concerns that candidates have about exposing their personal information to hackers when applying for a job. The study surveyed 2,000 people and found a large percentage were including personal information on their CVs that was not really necessary for their job application.

The research findings from the survey reinforce the government's 'Cyber Aware' campaign that aims to drive safe secure online behaviours that can minimise exposure to cyber crime.

Modern job hunting for students is almost exclusively online with many employers requiring CVs to be submitted at the time of application. Although some employers may require students to complete an online form there is often a requirement to submit a CV in support of an application.

Student job seekers can follow the advice within this article to ensure that their CV is presented in such a way that minimises risks of identity theft.
