Students Miss Out on National Living Wage

01 Apr 2016

The launch of the National Living Wage today will not benefit students under the age of 25 as they will continue to receive the lower rates of the National Minimum Wage.

The new mandatory National Living Wage has come into force, requiring employers to pay workers aged 25 and over at least £7.20 an hour. However workers aged 21 to 24 will continue to be paid the National Minimum Wage of £6.70 an hour.

The National Minimum Wage for 18-20 year olds remains at £5.30 per hour.
