We are a forward-looking College of Further & Higher Education that serves a large area of South East England with a wide range of vocational and academic courses, both full and part time. The College is situated in Ewell, close to Epsom in Surrey, and is located in the green belt near Epsom Downs and can easily be accessed either by car (junctions 8-10 on the M25) or rail (Ewell West is close and the college is next to Ewell East where you can get regular direct trains to Clapham Junction and Victoria). The College was last inspected in February 2016 retaining its overall grading of ‘Good’ under the robust new Ofsted standards.

We are currently recruiting to the following position:

Part time/Term Time Only Student Counsellor

up to £10,729 p.a. (actual salary for term time only)

18 hrs per week, 36 weeks per year

Our Student Counsellors work within BACP codes of ethics and practice to provide counselling and support for students experiencing personal and emotional problems. They also advise staff on issues relating to the emotional and social wellbeing of their students and work closely with the safeguarding team. They can be asked to facilitate group sessions for students and staff.

You will need a diploma in counselling (preferably Humanistic), understanding of the issues faced by students and substantial experience of working with young people. Ideally you will have BACP accreditation and have at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience.
